I swept both Women’s Racing Series races at Laguna Seca this weekend (Races 9 and 10, October 2–4), finishing ahead of my WRS rivals in both.
Saturday’s race, Race 9, was mine from lap one. I took the lead at the start and never gave it up, building my margin almost every lap to take the win by 11.8 seconds — the lead never changed hands.
Sunday’s race, Race 10, was the more dramatic of the two. I started from pole, lost the lead a few laps in, then ran down the gap, retook it, and drove to the win — a comeback, not just a close finish.
The results move me back into the championship lead, which I last held in April after a double win at Sonoma. I now have 45 points to Yana Kapoor’s 43, with a class podium in all ten races run so far this year and five class wins — Races 3, 4, 7, 9 and 10. Three of those five wins have come at Laguna Seca: Race 7 in June, and now both races this weekend.
My pace sharpened as the weekend went on. My fastest lap fell from 1:36.592 in Friday qualifying to 1:34.924 in Saturday qualifying — a 1.67-second gain — even as track temperatures climbed from the 60s into the 90s. I set a faster lap than Kapoor in both races, and my race pace tightened further on Sunday: in temperatures over 95°F, my lap times held within half a second of each other, about three times steadier than Saturday’s race.
In the full mixed FPUSA-4 field, the weekend also moved me from 9th to 8th overall.
One round remains to decide the 2026 championship: Races 11 and 12 at Sonoma Raceway, November 6–8.
